Can You Afford Not to Protect Your Lifestyle?
No Bike, No Track Days!
Are you lucky enough to own a dedicated track or race bike? Have you spent hours modifying it to win inters? If so, then you should probably be thinking about insuring it to protect your investment... Besides, imagine if thieves stole your bike and you couldn't afford to replace it. You'd be forced to spend your time doing jobs around the house or gardening - instead of tinkering in the garage!
What does track bike insurance cover?
Sometimes known as SORN Insurance, this policy covers bikes you don't ride on the road. Either because you filed a SORN or because the manufacturer never designed your bike for street registration. Policy benefits include:
Fire & Theft - People worry about theft, but often underestimate the devastating risk of fire
Malicious Damage (Vandalism) - Including damage caused by attempted theft
Optional 'In Transit' Cover - Add for extra premium (covered in the van or trailer)

You can add any mix of bikes (up to 10 bikes per policy) and you can also pay extra to cover your bikes 'In Transit'. The storage location does not have to be your home address.

What Security is Required?
As long as your bike is secured in a locked building and locked to something immovable we can offer you cover. This includes garages, outbuildings, sheds, shipping containers, self storage units, work locations or even inside your home!
It can be ground anchored, locked to other bikes or something immovable like a heavy duty workbench.
Insurance for SORN and Unregistered Bikes
You don't need a V5 to buy our Fire & Theft Insurance.
We insure motorcycles without a V5, as well as SORN vehicles. if you own an unregistered bike worth more than £4,000, you must install a DataTag security marking kit.
Fire & Theft Insurance for all types of unregistered motorbikes:
- Imported bikes
- Classic motorcycles
- Projects / custom builds
- Motocross, enduro, trials, speedway, etc
- Kids bikes, including mini-moto and pit bikes
- Electric motorbikes, e.g. Oset or Electric Motion
- Quads
And most things on two (or three) wheels with an engine/motor.
Does SORN Insurance earn No Claims Bonus?
SORN Insurance is designed for bikes that are not ridden on the road. Pricing is mainly based on the bike's value - not your riding experience. Because you don't ride it on the road, you don't earn any No Claims Bonus (NCB) for good behaviour. But neither do you need any NCB to buy this policy.
This type of laid up cover is ideal to protect yourself from financial loss. Protect your asset when it is stored or being transported from fire, theft and vandalism (malicious damage, including attempted theft). Our laid up policy also covers unregistered track or race bikes, as well as dirt bikes and kids motorbikes where you'd never earn NCB anyway.
Can I insure a motorbike that is not road registered?
Yes, you can buy Fire & Theft Insurance even if your motorbike is not registered for road use. For example, a dirt or track bike, kids motorbikes or recent imports that do not have a V5 'log book' and are never used on the road.
If you have an unregistered bike worth more than £4,000 (no V5 logbook), you must fit a DataTag security marking system (not expensive and easy to do). This ensures we can identify you as the owner of the bike if it is stolen and recovered.
What does 'In Transit' Cover?
Add 'In Transit' cover for an additional premium to insure your track or race bike when you transport it in a van or trailer. For example, to and from a pre-booked garage appointment or MOT, bike show/event. As well as a track day or other off-road race meeting at a UK or European event, track or circuit.
You must properly secure your bike when it is stored or you transport it in a van or trailer. You must pay a higher excess in the event of a claim during transit.
