Sometimes known as a 'Day Van' or 'Leisure Van', they often spend more time parked-up as a place to make a cuppa and sleep, than being driven on the road. Or they might be laid up for weeks on end between race meetings or track days. That's why Race van Insurance can sometimes save you money vs. normal van insurance, as it represents lower risk than a van being driven 30,000 miles per year in busy traffic.

What is a Race Van or Transporter?

Firstly your race truck must be privately owned in your name and only used for social, domestic and pleasure purposes, plus:

• Maximum 17.5 tonnes
• Carry no more than 6 passengers with seat belts
• Up to £40,000 in value
• Must not have a tachograph
• Must be able to carry a motorcycle (not a normal camper van or motorhome)

It can start life as a panel van and be as basic or as plush as you like, e.g. slap a bed and potty inside next to your bike, or a converted race van with an integrated garage, built by you or a professional coachbuilder - as long as it's not valued at more than £40k (including fixtures and fittings).

No Amendment Fees to make changes to your policy!

As a massive bonus... BeMoto don't charge amendment fees to make policy changes.

You could go elsewhere and pay £30-£40 in admin fees when you make changes to your policy, e.g. a change of number plate or adding a named driver, but why would you!?
